Dante is the de facto standard for Audio-over-IP, carrying audio (and increasingly video) across networks in broadcast studios, houses of worship, stadiums, corporate campuses, and live event environments worldwide. Dante Domain Manager is the essential hub for all Dante networks, securing devices, managing users, organising rooms and functions, and running AV seamlessly over routed networks. With the new Dante Domain Manager Extension for SP Grid, teams can now bring the full operational state of their Dante network directly into Grid Studio β unifying audio routing and device management alongside camera tracking, media playback, lighting, and the rest of the AVLM ecosystem.
The Extension connects to DDM via the Dante Managed API, giving Grid Studio a structured, real-time view of every domain, device, and subscription under management. Setup is straightforward: point the Extension at the DDM server address, authenticate with API credentials, and Grid Studio discovers the topology automatically. Once connected, operators can read and control the core elements of a working Dante system β domains, device enrolment, channel subscriptions, presets, clock configuration, and the full event and alert stream β without leaving the Grid environment.
What makes this particularly powerful in spatially intelligent workflows is that audio infrastructure stops being a separate concern. Channel routes become triggerable actions inside Grid Studio, meaning a camera move, a zone entry, a timeline cue, or a presenter ID from a tracking system can reconfigure the audio network in the same logic pass. Switch a broadcast set, and the relevant mic subscriptions follow. Open a new space, and devices enrol into the right domain automatically. Bring a redundant device online, and Grid Studio reacts to the DDM alert before an operator has to.
Beyond routing, the integration exposes monitoring and audit data as live structured feeds. Device health, latency, clock status, and user actions flow into Grid Studio's node graph, where they can drive dashboards, trigger redundancy workflows, or surface in operator-facing interfaces built with Grid Viewer. Combined with DDM's LDAP/Active Directory integration, SMPTE 2110 and AES67 support, and high-availability redundancy, the Extension gives studio designers a single point of orchestration across the audio network and the wider production system.
